Rachid Baz, M.D.
Dr. Rachid Baz is an assistant professor of Oncologic sciences at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and Assistant member in the department of malignant hematology at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute. He received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. Dr Baz completed his internal medicine and hematology and medical oncology training at The Cleveland Clinic. He is board certified in both hematology and medical oncology, with a special interest in the management of plasma cell dyscrasias, such as multiple myeloma, Waldenstrom Macroglobulinemia and primary amyloidosis. His main focus is on the clinical development of novel agents in these disorders. Among his achievements, Dr Baz was awarded the 2007 Celgene Future Leaders in Hematology award, which is presented to five fellows who have made significant contributions in the field of hematology. He is a member of both the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology. Dr Baz has coauthored numerous papers on novel therapies for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. He has also coauthored several book chapters and reviews on multiple myeloma and other plasma cell dyscrasias.
